Description

From a trip this september to one of the numerous peaks in the area where I live - which is Molde, a small town on the west coast of Norway. The mountain is called Ågottind - Ågot is a womans name in norwegian, so odds are that at some point in time there has been a wife/daughter named Ågot living on one of the isolated farms beneath the mountain, and the mountain has simply been named after her. The last part of the mountain's name, "tind", is simply the norwegian equivalent of peak. It isn't much more than 1400m high, but you start from an elevation of about 20m - and most of the climb is almost (but not quite) steep enough to require a rope. The guy in the picture is a friend of mine that was visiting from Switzerland, and we have just begun the descent - the cairn on top of the peak is clearly visible in the background.

I will definitely not be seeing you guys there...I'm totally ground bound. I really love the mossy green patches. Thanks for sharing a view I will never see. Looking forward to seeing the view from the peak!

Norway is a stunning country, I used to go there as a child with my Father to a small island near Bergen where our family lives.. I think the port we went from was called Stavangar. Great photo !
