Description

Now take it easy. These are not sitting on me. LOL! But on a maple leaf. I took these shots yesterday and I thought about you Mark, because it seems that you are having something with microscopic organisms. You have painted then and shown us wonderful art of very small creatures, so now il show you something not that beautiful but still interesting. Look how tiny they are. I wish I knew what they are and will become in the spring. ZOOM IS REALLY NESSESARY. Thanks for your wonderful comments and warm words about my mom. I really apreciate it. Il go to visit her this afternoon. Also thank you for adding it your favs. Have a wonderful day. Peaceful grey and cold outside. No wind. YAY !

Fascinating Helle!! Great way to show the scale. I am sure mark would love this, with his preference for micro things.

Yes (gun), mark loves this! It's like a microscopic raisin salad! What an amazing macro...When I made my microorganism-paintings, it was to come to terms with what the little buggers were doing to me: But you've caught them relaxing on the beach or reading the Sunday paper! Your macros are a constant source of joy, helle, this is a wonderful shot. Thank you so much for thinking of me, your eye is always working and I love what it captured today! Many hugs, and healing to your dear mom too... (((((((((Helle)))))))))

Holly mackerel, this is amazing. It’s a great idea whit the smaller picture of the leaf in the right corner. It gives the picture a story, and adds flavour to the whole image.

I wonder if it is some kind of worm colony that are cocooned and will become moths in spring. Then, will they eat the leaf and fly away? Will there be any leaf left in spring? Well, is as good a guess as any. LOL Really great way to show this grouping and their size.

I'm glad to hear they're not sitting on you...:)) I'd say they probably are galls made by gall wasps, who can be as small as 1mm when adult. Maples are quite popular among several parasites, but the only ones that I know produces galls (like the ones in your picture) are wasps.
