Description
When Marilyn was here we went to my sister-in-law's place on Whidbey Island and had a lovely evening. My niece Brittany was there, and she brought her friend Derek. (I posted Derek's portrait a few days ago.)
Brittany was messing around and stole Derek's hat, and was making faces and mugging for the camera. I got several shots of her with the hat, but this is my favorite.
Speaking of Derek, he's one of those people who carries a camera around with him all the time. Imagine that! We told him about Renderosity, and he's opened a gallery here and has been posting. If you want to see his stuff, he's derekjgarcia and he's quite talented! He has a good eye for light, so you KNOW I like what he's doing! :)

I love candid shots, and this exemplifies all that really works well in that genre. I love the spontaneous, vibrant life in this picture! Black and white is s superb choice as well, since (at least for me) the absence of color simply heightens the emotional impact. Great work, as always!
