Description

The Swaziland saga continues... The reserve where this image was taken, Mlildane, is fairly small and hosts mainly antelope and warthogs... I took this image of a Hartebeest antelope around 2:30 pm which, as all wildlife photographers would know, is not a good time. Because of the heat, the animals mainly gather under shady trees, which makes a decent image fairly difficult. I shot him with my 170-500mm lens and just loved the way he was standing between the two trees watching me... Thank you for popping in and for your very valued and appreciated comments and favs on my upload of last night. Take care Hugs, Carin xx

Hi Carin, Beautiful wildlife capture...isn't a big zoom lens great! This time I'm going to side with David (Fred255) ref the frame. He made the same remark to me several weeks ago. The more I thought about it, the more I decided my frames were getting as much or more attention than my photo images. I reduced their size and am happy I did with "the less is more result" :-). A virtual silhouetting effect in this wonderful composition, Carin! Getting stuck on and/or by those horns would be a dilemna.

Great photo. Right place and right time. If you have the software you could try to lighten the antelope up a bit, to bring out the detail.
