Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

I thought it was a lighthouse when I saw the thumb .Another cracking shot from you Marilyn :o) Mick

crackling, yes! The tower is imposing at it is, especially as it has only a few trees around it so that it stands out like a big monolith. But you got this big white light towards the top which makes it look like the gods singled it out for a message! Whatever it's used for (waste?), it feels like an early morning god who pretty much minds its own business unless someone messes with it. You have a nice misty quality to the light, and the sky-blue around it is jewel-like. As Mick says, another crackling shot from you. Really commanding!

Thought it was a Helter Skelter lol(one of those old Fair-rides on mats and slide down). Then as Mick has said I thought Lighthouse, but I haven't any idea what it could be, but its a fascinating building and a great shot! love the high palms towering up next to it!

A poo-tower! Only you could make such a splendid pic out of this, Marilyn!

It's not the end. Southern California needs water and will go to great lengths to get it.

It looks awful like a 'Gas Tank', which I guess it could well be, for the storing of methane gas, which could be used for heating. You know that you can run a car on chicken shit so why not tap into the natural byproduct of human waste Methane Gas. Just a theory. Excellent capture Marylin whatever it's used for, thought provoking thats for sure. I used to have a news paper clip about a vet in Europe, he went to check a cow and stuck a pipe up the cows backside to check for gas, he put a light(flame) to the tube and a jet of flame leaped from the cow and set fire to a dutch barn full of hay. He did a couple of hundred thousand pounds worth of damage, and was fined for it. Superb work, suprising what memories come to mind from a simple picture. Lol. Bravo!!!!!

Wow, if that's full sewage I sure wouldn't want to fall in! I think I've seen this thing many years back (in my much younger days I spent a lot of time in Huntington Beach). You've made it a work of art!

It's the Talapia fish that help keep the smell down, because they eat it!!! And then people buy the fish in the stores unaware of what the lil critters eat to stay alive #^P Nice shooting M !!!
