Description
Dickensian Festival at Grassington, North Yorkshire.
Grass Shoots - 'Little Match Girl' (adaptation of Hans Christian Anderson's story) by the local Grassington Youth Group.
These kids were brilliant, little stars in the making! All credit to them for singing and acting in front of a huge crowd, their singing and drama skills were so professional. A joy to watch!

I wonder if this young girl has any musical talent, with those long slender fingers. they used to call these Pianist's hands. Excellent capture Alan, and a great expression you have caught on her face, it's a pity the crowd is so close, but I know nothing can be done about that. I'm remembering ELR now and the trouble we had there. Superb work mate. Bravo!!!!!

Gosh, she does look so much the part and to think, looking at the crowd, it was cold enough for them to bundle up and this little child is not. I bet she was even feeling the part! This is my favorite Anderson story - he had so many I enjoyed, but this was the one that I would tell over and over to anyone who would listen. Stellar shot.
