Hi, I'm Marilyn.  I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile.  It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here.  I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends.  Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time.  Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!!  Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet.  You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long.  Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Wonderful and very creative work

Geez, the top shot looks just like my table on Thanksgiving except we substituted the fine china for paper plates, the crystal glasses for beer mugs, the linen cloth and linen napkins to match for paper towels and a dropcloth on the floor, and the darling condiment serving pieces for bottled catsup, mustard and a jar of hot peppers. See? Same thing but I didn't think to get any photos! Darn!

WOw, talk about elegance. Even afterward, there's still an air of "I've out-done myself again, this time" about it.

must have been good as there is not much left

OH! An absolutely gorgeous table. The hole dining table with the crystal and the curtains in the back very romantic. And the way the too pictures meat in the middle, is just perfect, the way they tone in to each other. Hugs Sus

So funny! They should be proud to show the world!

You guys didn't even mess it up too much at all, I don't see any huge wine or gravy stains on the tablecloth, no broken glasses...must not have been much of a party! You should have shown someone with their face down on the plate passed out from overstuffing! :)

I saw this when you first posted it & got hungry just looking. (Disclaimer: I"m a vegetarian, so normally turkey isn't on my diet.) (I eat tofu. Don't laugh, it's not easy on Thanksgiving...) Your "before" shot is a delight of formal arrangement and glitter, photographed with the lines of glasses & chairs all synchronized, and looking very royal. Then the "after" shot is nicely faded, with ambers & golds like it were memory, and all the subtle chaos of a table after a feast. (The desserts I could eat, btw!) It shimmers too, and I like that you fade the top image into the bottom. Wonderful juxtaposition & individual images; and even if I am vegetarian there was probably a lot of food there I could eat. And I like that you're getting to be known as the person everyone has to be careful around 'cause you'll photograph them. Powerful tool when you're on a major website!
