Hope it all goes well mate, and I agree with Alan there are mixed feelings here, when you close this door for the last time, you may hear a fond memory echo in your mind, when I moved fom one house to the other, as I closed the door, I heard my then 15 year old daughter Gemma calling me daddy in a tiny childs voice..,I hope this all goes smoothly for June and yourself, have a great Christmas, and all the best for 2009, until then U'll sithee!

It's been years since I moved house, but I remember this feeling well. Everything boxed up and ready to go, just the necessities left out ... it's sad and exciting all at the same time. When the house is empty, before you leave for the last time, make sure to walk through the house, stand in every room, and give thanks for how well it sheltered you, for all the memories, good and bad, that were made there. I warn you ... you'll cry! But it's a good thing to do. It gives a sense of completion and acknowledgement to this major life event. Walking out without looking back will leave you feeling like you've forgotten something important.

Mick, I will miss you so much! Be careful not to over-do things in your haste to get squared away in new quarters but don't stay gone long if it can be helped. This shot brings back so many memories - emotions that I thought I had long buried. 3 long distance moves by the age of 10, and after I thought I'd settle down with a family of my own, another 19 moves before I said STOP! No matter where I land this time, I'm sticking there for the rest of my life and making the best of it! Its been almost 8 years since I said that and so far, I have stuck. :-) The piggy bank on the shelf is a sweet sight - Soon it will have a new shelf to call home.

Seeing these boxes surely brings back memories. When we moved the last time, in 1989, my father had a heart attack, and a full by-pass operation, so we were stuck moving, and trying to keep in contact with him, all the way back in Oklahoma! He had the attack while traveling and visiting my sister. I hope we never have to move again! ;o)
