this was an old bank built in 1923.the bottom floor is used by the newer bank next door but the upper floors are empty.Corsicana was a large town back in it's heyday of oil, but most people have moved away.Oil was discovered in Texas here first when someone was drilling for water.the first refinery west of the Mississippi river was founded here thanks for for viewing and any comments

This is one of the things I love about Texas... towns from way back, now only a fraction of what they were, and gorgeous buildings from its heyday remaining behind to remind everyone of the town's pride and rich history. No money to keep them up to code so they languish by the wayside, but just look at how beautifully this was made! Fabulous shot.

Fantastic capture, Richard. What a wonderful piece of architecture. I hope they spend a few bucks on maintenance. It is important that buildings like this one, survive. A good reminder of how beautiful the made things, once. And how ugly they make them nowadays. Nice romantic piece.
