Description

Crisp, Clear And Cold That’s the way it is This morning Frost on the pumpkin Or there would be If I had one It’s clear as a bell Blue skies Just walking out the door Wakes me up Gives me a jolt Autumn depresses me But winter Brings me alive Bassackwards for sure Just a few more days And the days get longer And my mind Wraps itself around That thought And I see light Winter solstice dark nights Special time I seize these precious days As though they are Gifts from the goddess Amazement and awe I’m thrilled By these most brilliant Blinding breathtaking Days and nights Course it will all change In a heartbeat The rain will come Clouds will darken the sky And I’ll still embrace This time of year I’m renewed Recharged full of energy Bassackwards I know Just a few more days 12/11/08 foto--donner lake, near tahoe, california 3/08

Beautiful narrative to go with a beautiful photo capture. That water sure seems icy cold, but quite captivating, too.

Another profound exercise in the realm of introspection. Autumn would also depress me if we ever had it down here in Southern California.

Autumn is such a strange time of year...a sort of in-between twilight place/time. Winter is definitely where I come alive as well...well, Summer too...but it seems that winter has its own special powers and you've captured that. The image that accompanies the text is wonderful as well.

Winter isn't my favorite! I'm not looking forward to the cold. My cousin is moving to Fairbanks. She went up there last February, got off the plane and walked out into 25-below weather, said, "Dang, that's cold!" and absolutely loved it. I would have been running back for the plane!!

Great title for a greta pic. I just wish winter wasn't such a pain to drive in. Ask the folks who got caught at Donner pass in the earlies!
