This really caught my eye! Wonderful tangibility and the exposed corn sort of looks as if the ear has its own life - a sinister smile and a long, thin beard.

This image has much going for it. The level of detail is fabulous as is the B&W conversion. Your choice for the composition is right on the money, too. It does suffer a little with the soft focus at the top center. This image really challenges my concept of a cornfield, and by so doing effectively draws out an emotional response. My first thought was, "I would never want to eat an ear of corn from this field. This is where the zombies go when they want veggies." That's not a bad thing. It's just not a typical image of an ear of corn, and so it brought a question to mind: Is this an appropriate way to display an ear of corn? I don't know. Good job! You kept me interested and thinking.
