Description

Good evening, dear friends and visitors! At first: Thank you for your big interest about my last pics of this place. And: Sorry, I am a little bit ashamed, that it lasted so long to continue this story a little bit... To continue the story, please look at this: This part of landscape is situated 30 kilometers south of saxonia`s capital Dresden and is called "The Saxonian Switzerland". It is a sandstone mountain with a flat surface like this, crowned by several table mounts. The big one in the middle is the Fortress Koenigstein, the "king`s stone", and beneath the so called "lily`s stone". Between them runs the river Elbe in a small canyon with very steap walls, cliffs and pilars. The King´s stone in the middle has human settlements for more than 700 years now and is crowned today by nearly 50 buildings from several centuries. It is a main tourist attraction today with more then 500 000 visitors per year. Pic was done at the first week of October with my little Coolpix 8700. I hope you enjoy it and I will continue the story tomorrow and the following days. Goodby for today. Billcody

There is no need to be ashamed Wolfgang, your life takes priority, it is great to see an upload from you though, I had been wondering about you. I think the wait was worth it, what a wonderful vista, I have never seen anything quite like it, you have opened my eyes. If ever I was to travel, I would certainly make sure the Dresden area was on my list of places to see. Excellent capture and a wonderful narrative. Bravo!!!!!
