Description

Taken 05:15 CST, 12.14.2008 This image takes a little explaining. Cloudy night last night when the moon was not only full, but at its' fullest for all of 2008. This photo being taken one day after the full moon, we can already see the shadow of a waning moon on the lower right quadrant. This is the first time I've ever shot in camera RAW...subsequently doing all adjustments in RAW and saved in .jpeg. Works great as everybody knows that has done it. Finally, no, the moon didn't appear blue...I simply used "cyanotype" as a Hue and Saturation adjustment because I like the way it looks for this posting versus white, gray or a warm shade of light brown. Hope you enjoy looking at all these craters. A full moon always draws me out :-) Really appreciate all your comments and favs. Great Sunday to you all, Bill

Fantastic! I was in Taos and all those bonfires and luminarias got in the way. It was the closest perigee in 15 years, and really made it a gorgeous weekend to be out doing night photography. I got some shots of it over the activities, but nothing spectactular. Nice lens!
