UPDATED: September 19, 2010
Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Skipper62 I bet has less stress...got to love the contrast...
saretta
Great shots, they're both beautiful...the second one has a special sense of freedom though :-)

Awesome Shots!!

Less Stress, sense of freedom, Ha... Once you get the copperheads and other critters out, I suppose so. But, the top one has indoor plumbing, heat/air and room for a pony and Mother-in-law in the wing to the left which is not shown. Oh, and the roof does not leak. House on top has 23,000 sq feet. Would rather pay the taxes on the bottom one. Cheers, Skipper62

As I like to think of myself as "Lady of the Manor" Bill, (I do jest by the way) I will go for the top one to stay in lol - but like Skipper62 I will pay the taxes on the bottom one too. Lovely photo's.

Ok, between the two xhots, I'll live in that Gazebo... A fire pit in the winter with drop-canvass sides and I'm good to go. Nice and close to the water. :-) Great shot of your dad, right? Both, wonderful shots.
Pannyhb
MrsLubner, you have made my day. I'm Skipper's wife:)

Unless the Renderosity member was after old weathered wood effects, I would expect him or her to be visiting the mansion shown at the top. Interesting blue frame effects on display in this collage, Bill.

Which is more social, which is more civilized, which is more Swedish?
npauling
Great captures, and oh so different. Love the contrasts.
bronwyn_lea
Yes it is quite a contrast. I like the cabin.
auntietk
Wonderful contrasts! After Skipper mentioned the snakes, I think I'll just stay home. The mansion is a bit OTT for me, but I don't want to fight the critters in order to get a good night's sleep, either! Both are great shots.
frankie96
Opulance and a cracker shack...quite a difference... great shot also...
kansas
Great shots. I'll pick the log cabin. I don't go for fancy stuff/places.

Excellent collage and challenge... I choose the cabin :)
kenmo
Cool idea and collage...!!!

I love large homes, but if you talk about visiting, I'd rather go for the bottom one! Great collage, Bill!
neiwil
Afraid I'd go for the shack, (for a week in Summer / Autumn) far too much housework in the top one :) Great pictures in contrast. Thanks Bill.
debbielove
Me! I'd take a week in the shack THEN, a week in the top one being pampered! Ha! Great collage, mate and hello there Skip! Rob.
durleybeachbum
I've been working out how many lodgers I'd need to pay the bills on the top one! both great shots! A great idea.
flora-crassella
... of course I would want the small house! There I would not have to clean so much! ;-)) Maybe the man is also happier in the small house, than the inhabitants in the big house??!!?? Very nice photos!
Emil-arts
Well i'm up for the cabin as long as we can all go fishing :)
sharky_
I'd choose the bottom one any and every day. Home-Sweet-Home. Aloha

Bill, I am such a low rent guy that I probably would prefer the 100 year old cabin. Bet it didn't have A/C or a heater.
MagikUnicorn
GREAT !! I like the top one...much more to offer ;-)
moonrancher
Interesting choice. Great memories and adventures in a cabin, and way too much responsibility in a mansion. I had to hang my camera on a nail next to my jacket, though. And the internet wasn't there. Still, I'd pick a cabin.
mermaid
lol I always would prefer the one the skipper is sitting in front of...smile.. it has much more character and romantic and to me a lot more a cozy feeling
Richardphotos
I would prefer the bottom one and have the value of the big one in the bank!both are excellent captures
CavalierLady
What a mansion! Would hate to pay the yearly taxes, much less the monthly bills! The cabin is much more charming, and how nice to see Skipper there. Nice images, Bill.
