Description

This might give you an idea of how nasty the surf gets up here. The waves break 4 and 5 at a time, on top of the other. And, then further out, there will be yet another breaking all by itself. I was on a hill, a LONG way from the water to take these shots--though there were a couple of very crazy guys walking WAY too close. It's still big out there, but this particular beach becomes inaccessible since both the road and parking lot are flooded by the huge waves. One of these days, I'll find a spot and get that shot I'm after!! ride the wild surf #1

The waves are pounding.... Watch out for that salty water on your camera when you do find your spot... Excellent job. Aloha

I know you are aware of the dangers but be so careful finding that spot. I've been looking for quite some time too and I can see where it is, but can't bring myself to stand there since rogue waves are so common and I don't want to die. :-) This is a fabulous shot of the power and the glory.

When you see waves like these coming in at you, you head for the hills, post haste! Tsunamiville! I like the frothy and spraylike textures in this intrepid shot, M! Have you visited my 900th posting today? It isn't a vehicle, so it's safe to go there.
