I am guesting he is a hero. Because why would he be walking when he can ride the other horse. The dead guy is his brother who got himself in some trouble.

Nobody's dead, he's just passed out because of the bad booze they serve at the local saloon. The other guy is walking bacause we would be too sick if he was riding his horse. Great mood and thanks for putting our imaginations at work.

Guessing games... well first of all the guy over the horse is going to fall off or is actualy awake cause his legs are to far out to be passed out or dead unless he had a bit of post mortem before he got (hopefully) tied on. Some people belive that horses have a secret conspiracy and are out to get them. I am going for this and the horses are taking the guy in for a bounty.

That's easy, he's really the prisoner of the horses - the one on the left is keeping guard. the one on the other one's back got told to try and find the feed back and is stuck :)

You have surprised him , how he has just transported the corpse on the horse,then he wanted to send it with the horse into the desert. He is coming toward you now and then 2 corpses are lying on the horse, that is walking around without any aim in the area and loses the corpses on the way . While the murderer leaps onto his horse and leaves the country. Have a wonderfull christmas and a happy new year!
