Description

BUY THIS CAR!!! Sixty-ninth in a series of classic vehicles, captured 9/21/08, at the beautiful Palos Verdes Concours d'Elegance, held annually at the beautiful Trump National Golf Club on the beautiful Palos Verdes Peninsula in overpopulated Southern California. For more information on this event, see my posting for 9/28/08. A zoom view will be to your absolute benefit. Incidentally, this is not the same 1957 Eldorado Brougham as featured in yesterday's posting. Other than the license plates, they are identical twins. As depicted in the top photo, a vast amount of space was reserved on the golf course for the Cadillacs. Also apparent are the antique model Caddies in the distant background, many of which I have already posted. The public address announcer kept urging the crowd to go visit the Cadillac display, which became most irritating after a while, because the more people to get in your way, the more difficult to take an unobstructed photo. Just like babies, clouds, flowers, kittens, puppies, sunsets, Mom and apple pie, everyone loves Cadillac fins. Thankx for coming by, and have a tenderly tendentious Tuesday.

Really a massive hunk of metal...the fins are larger and upswept versions of the ones seen on their cousinn..the 57 Chevy..

I see two interesting htings on this one. The white stripe whitewalls comapred to the "clown" wide white on the background car. The little flap that looks like the gas filler in the space between the fin and the trunk on the left. When these fenders were used on an El Morroco the filler was in the fin behind the upper trim. (Oh! I didn't have to say that as the El Morroco wasn't a real Cadillac? coolcatcom will catch this)

I like the rear end shot, fabulous bodywork. This has it all, the bullets, the fins, the half bumpers. Sweet!

That's got a trunk you could fit a whole bunch of people into for sneaking into the drive-in movies! Great captures again!

Four door hardtop...It has been many a year since any manufacturer has built one of these. This is a real treat. I don't think I ever saw a Brougham during it early years. Beautiful car with excellent POVs chosen by you. Bill

Awesome display of years gone by and one has to admit they don't make them like this anymore and most probably never will. Good for us they kept the ole ladies intact for our pleasure. You did very well despite the crowd constraints.

Just love this lady Harry.... Those wingtips at the back add to her flair... What an elegant set of wheels... Well captured! :)
