Description

Hi Friends I have captured this proud peacock on Saturday at the Johannesburg Zoo. I was using my 170-500mm lens hand held, so to get proper focus was quite tricky. Hope you like it... Thank you for all the well wishes with my tooth. I managed to see the dentist and I'm afraid it is an infection. She gave me antibiotics and very strong pain killers... So, I'll just have to endure for a couple of days. Thank you for your wonderful and much appreciated comments and favs on my "Three Trees" upload of last night. Stay safe. Hugs, Carin xx

Proud as a peacock now makes more sense don't you agree? What a tremendous lens you used and hand held...?? Very impressive. I can even defeat my image stabilization now and then. Excellent photo. Bill

I can sympathise with the infection, I had one last year and it's not at all pleasant, I was miserable company for a few days! I used salt water as well as some kind of pepper oil and gargled and it really helped.. but you did the sensible thing and went and got something official, I'm sure you'll be fine =) oh, and nice shot.. love the crop and colours and it doesn't matter so much the focus is a little soft, its kinda dreamy..

I'v seen quite a few peacock photos before, but none quite like this. It looks like light is coming through the tail feathers from behind. Very Very gorgeous.

Easily one of the best peacock captures I've ever seen! Congratulations! I've taken several pix of this gorgeous creature myself but either they're too quick on their feet, or lack full plumage, or the lighting or pose isn't to my liking, etc.

at least maybe you will not loose the tooth. peacocks are special and your capture is fine. I sent my 50-500 lens to Sigma for warranty repairs and in the box the weight was almost 6 pounds so I know what you are talking about
