Description
This is a picture of the table at my grandparents house. You can see me in the mirror clock taking the picture, as well as my brother and my cousin's girlfriend.
Gather round the table
And I will tell a fable
Of your ancestors long ago
And the bravery they have shown
And in the end you'll see
Attributes in me
That have always been a part of you
Your blood runs strong, straight and true
And then we all shall feast
Canquerors of beasts
For we are family, all are here
We are family, close and dear

a really sumptuous shot, I missed this (along with a bunch of others I'm catching up on...) I'm vegetarian, and this makes me hungry, which is no small feat believe me. You caught the full colors of feasting, and still there's an openness to it all—it feels relaxed & open. And I like that you caught yourself & family in the mirror. As for the poem, it's captures the sense of ancestry at gatherings, and does it with real simplicity, like an old family prayer. Very sensitive work.....I'm trying very hard to figure out what all those foods are, and that's half the fun. Hope it was as good as it looks!
