Description

I have 12 African Violets on a bookshelf next to the window. When I was given the first one, it came with all kinds of complicated instructions and I thought I'd probably end up killing it. Turns out it, and the other 11 I ended up with almost thrive on neglect!! I water them, I actually shower them every so often, and they grow and bloom almost all year round. A couple of them were starts from other plants, one came from a friend, who got it from her mom, who got it from her mom. This is one of the older ones.

beautiful shades of blue. Although I love nature, flowers and plants it is very unusual for me to purchase any. I know very little about them their names/ I have no luck growing them but I did buy some potted chrysanths from a local charity project group. They are already shooting so I thought I probably can't go wrong with these lol watch this space!

a beautiful capture of the infinite texture of petals. Looks like spun sugar or a very coarse silk; they're really beautiful. And you have "ghost" flowers in the background as if they were hanging back so as not to interfere...Nice beings to walk by early in your day and late in your night. Very fine detail & hues...Merry Christmas, friend! Many many more!

A bunch of years back I bought my mum an AV, the instructions warned against wetting the foliage, but like you, mum showered it down, and also that one thrived on near neglect, it died around three years back now, but it lived for 12 years.

Stellar capture of the hardy bloomers, Marilyn! The beautiful plants doing just fine, thank you, without the sturm and drang of doting over their tenuous existence day after day.

I once collected african violets and had windows sills covered in them. I was amazed at how easy they grew and how fast they spread. This is a marvelous shot and really shows off the varigated color in the petals.
