Description

Oh, those elusive "monster" waves continue to tease me. I read the weather reports and they tell me of 30-35 foot waves, tell me to stay away from the surf line, and oh yeah, that swimming might be dangerous!! Well....duh...ya think???? Swimming in the ocean up here is almost impossible any time of the year, do they really think I'm gonna be goin for a dip?? At any rate, no big waves, but it WAS stormy, cold and wet. This is at Table Bluff**, I was actually about 200 feet above the beach, safe enough if I EVER see those "monsters". I think they live with Denise's (mrsRatbag) blue herons!! **table bluff

Lol....... I love your dry sarcasm.... made me smile and laugh with ya :) "well... duh...ya think?" hehe. This composition is just lovely, and taken at the most perfect time of day. The colours are so vibrant and exquisite and contrast each other very well, bringing forth the beautiful abundance and layers that we are exposed to. I absolutely love this! A truly lovely and magical creation!

Wow! That sky is SO intense! A beautiful capture...maybe someday we should go on safari to find those waves and herons?

I bet your daredevil son would have tried swimming in the ocean at that time. Terrific snap, Marilyn. Stark contrast -- which you seem to favor -- between the ultra ominous dark sky and the whitish waves below.

Its storming here with snow on both mountains. Seems like rain and snow all over. Nice capture. Aloha

Beautiful!! We are surely getting our share of storms here, too. We need the rain. I love the ocean. ;o) Sooooo cool!

There is no place I'd rather be than on the bluffs of Northern California when a storm is on the horizon and headed towards me. I envy those people who live in those houses perched on the cliffs. Great shot.

I think they need to rename the place Monster Wave Bluff, LOL!!!! Either that or when they see you coming they say "watch this" and calm down just to irritate you,................................ is it working?!?!?! Happy New Year!!!

ok, catch-up time (at least some for today!) This is a beautiful classical piece; it shows that you have a classical side to you too, alongside your many other energies. It's vibrant, but it's also classically composed—i.e., the three planes so simply captured, beach/water/sky; each has its own full personality. Also, you caught spindly growth up front in just the right amount, it really pulls the piece into our immediate view; the water is radiant, and that background sky is a great contrast, all looming & dark & foreboding. Classical & powerful at once. Vibrant work, Marilyn, as always.
