Description

Captured 3/8/07 during my 3-mile round-trip along the 300-acres of restored wetlands, located just north of Huntington Beach proper, photographing anything and everything in sight. It doesn't look like it here, but the reserve supports waterfowl such as avocets, egrets, plovers, and the endangered least terns, whatever that particular species is. Bill, aka bmac62, was curious about the visitor's trail -- not exactly the most spectacular track on earth -- that I followed adjacent to the wetlands, so depicted above are portions I shot as I trod resolutely along the way. The path was virtually all dirt and varied significantly in width the entire distance. The top shot shows the trail looking south deep into the trek; the bottom three photos are looking north as I returned to whence I began the trip. Thankx for popping in, and have a super special weekend.

I was wondering about the trail too...that's a REALLY interesting fence in that middle shot; I think I'd spend a lot of time on that part! Thanks, and great captures!

Harry, do you remember, "You Asked For It"? ...on TV between 1950 and 1959. Sponsors were Skippy Peanut Butter and Studebaker Autmobiles. So, you've fulfilled my request because I asked for it! Thanks for the look down the trail. Another fine collage. Bill

I'm glad to see the trail, as well. It looks like a wonderful walk. Like Denise, I find the shot with the fence to be most engaging. (And I remember watching reruns of "You Asked For It," although I was too young to have seen it when it originally came out ... that was a great show!)

Before these collage I was wondering, are you walking knee deep in a swampy water but as I see it is a path to stay dry while you visit this area. Love the wooden rail shot a best.

Fabulous shots Harry, I think there is something mystical about ones eye following a path or trail. Very cool photography my friend!
