Description
Hope you all had a glorious Christmas and/or Hanukkah holiday, with all it entails, but now back to the good stuff.
Captured 3/8/07 during my 3-mile round-trip along the 300-acres of restored wetlands, located just north of Huntington Beach proper, photographing anything and everything in sight.
It doesn't look like it here, but the reserve supports waterfowl such as avocets, egrets, plovers, and the endangered least terns, whatever that particular species is.
Okay, roses are nice and colorful, but nothing like the natural beauty of the swamps, dead trees, cacti, scrub brush, and scratchy ground cover of the reserve.
I suppose a hearty LOL would be appropriate about now.
Thankx for the visit, and have a fabulously frenetic Friday.

Outstanding walk through the bog here today. Restored wetlands you say...what was their status before restoration? I put roses up yesterday but I agree with you, swamps are places we don't see often...hence, all the more interesting. If you have more to put up, I'd like to see the trail you are treading. Another excellent collage! Bill

I love all those tree snags sticking up out of the water...a wonderful reclaimed piece of land, I'm sure the birds love it!

Interesting captures. Great visual panorama with this reserve.

This particular part looks desolate, you'd never think it was really so close to the ocean. Makes me wonder what it looked like before......

Excellent and very interesting shots. Fantastic capture of the mood.

Roses aren't much good for the environment in comparison to this super place! Although I love both!

It certainly does look like the perfect place for birds, interesting view, Harry.
