Description

This is another one in my series "Days of Awe", with the little girl. Links to the other two images are below. This series is about those days when everything can be a reason for awe and surprise, days of discovery. Days when going to the far end of a lake feels the same as going to the moon. To tell you the truth, when I made the first one, I didn't know this was going to be a series. The concepts more or less unfolded by themselves in my mind. I'm normally very careful about the composition of my images, how the different elements visually interact with one another and how they "guide" the viewer across the image. I particularly like how this image turned out from that point of view. I hope you like it too.

I like the stark contrasts. Reminds me of what I'd expect to see in a 'late-model' animation film - light on quantity of details, heavy on detail clarity.

Great stuff! Composition, the rock texture and the lighting are perfect, but the atmosphere is the best! I know exactlz what you´re talkimng about...I was an ´explorer´ when I was younger myself :)

The first thing that comes to mind is HOW? This is why I don't create virtual worlds anymore. I suck at it! No, it's true, and I'm big enough to admit that. Your ability to make virtual water look real is remarkable, as is the way you illuminate your scene. Time & patience produce results, your gallery is proof of that!
