Description

Cynthia (wonderworld) takes the most amazing photographs of everyday things, and in particular of ordinary things from days gone by. The other day I was putting the dishes away, and noticed my old Pyrex in a new way. I had one of those mental shifts where what I'm looking at becomes a photograph, and I immediately thought of Cynthia. I had to wait for a day with good light, and then I had to wait to get my Photoshop issues under control, but at last ... here's the shot I wanted! These Pyrex boxes belonged to my grandmother, and I have no idea when she got them. They've been around for as long as I can remember. They're perfect for leftovers, and I use one of the red ones as my butter dish. I took more than 50 photographs of these dishes in my state-of-the-art backlighting studio, so you'll undoubtedly have to look at a couple more of them somewhere down the road! In the meantime ... Thank you, Cynthia, for being such an inspiration!

Fifty photos of Pyrex boxes? Hmmmm....yeah....okay. Fine POV and clarity displayed in this shot. The Pyrex look somewhat like my clear plastic containers after emptying cans of olives into them.

That's what I love about this place ... I think by browsing these gallerys, we absorb more than we realize. When we carry on about our daily lives, these things happen; we catch ourselves looking at things in a whole new way; don't you LOVE when that happens!!?? :) Maybe because of this, (this upload), I will look at doing my dishes now with a more artistic eye .. lol IMAGINE THAT!! :) If it does, I will dedicate my image to YOU! :)
