Description

Many, many years ago I was asked to attend a fun, yet formal party. I replied, "I'll be there with bells on!" And indeed, I was. I sewed bells to the bottom of my long slip, and when I walked, there was the faint sound of bells tinkling. It was such fun to watch people try to figure out where the sound was coming from. When I was looking for things to shoot in low light, I came across those bells. They've been in a box in my sewing cabinet for over twenty years!

What a marvelous story behind those bells! No wonder you kept them! Nice photo and thank you for sharing those memories with us!

Wow, what a cool shot! They look so perfectly arranged that you probably just dropped them and shot them as they lay... :) The lighting, of course, is wonderful!

Very nice shot. The low light really sets the bells off and I like the faint hint of maroon or brown colored corduroy cloth below. Looking at the bells I see some small reflections...that's cool. Good story :-) Bill [I've got some stain glass to go up next... Have you done any?]

they shimmer, and full-view (full-resolution) they're like gold lights in the darkness. I like the deep browns too, the kind of dark Rembrandt loved. Beautiful shot, very sensitively done! (You know the old joke about the guy who's in a foreign country & told to tie bells to his face? He drops dead & the people shout, "who is he?" & the constable says, "don't know, but his face rings a bell!") Ok, I'll stop...I love this shot.

Nicely done, I like how the image goes from black to a dark chocolate brown, and lovely sheen to the bells.

I've heard of The Bells of St Mary's, but this is taking it a step further! Stellar clarity, lighting and reflectivity of the tinker bells, contrasted against the black background, in this unique composition.
