Finally. Even though I've got a lot more patience when I do something creative than otherwise, in the end of a painting like this I just want it to be over with :p Yesterday afternoon my cold took over entirely and sent me away from the screen. So I didn't get a chance to finish this until today. Thanks for your comments yesterday and I hope you like the end result :) The reference photo I used had a light background, but because Miss Blanchett's skin is so pale I figured that a darker background would be of benefit for her. It makes her skin glow in a different way. Her earrings are a bit different too...and I added a bit of glow to them. Um...the crushed velvet in the dress took a while to get use to. I've learned both to simplify and paint detailed in the past, and this was a bit of both. Still need to get all the shades and highlights right since that's what makes this fabric look the way it does. And that's it I think. As an answer on the question if I started painting the cast of LOTR - nopes. Lord Of The Rings is not even among my favorites with this actress. I like her a lot more as Queen Elizabeth :) Thanks for peeking in :D C.
