My name is Tara, and I was born and raised in Washington State.
Â
In 2010 I married Bill (bmac62) and retired ... two of the best choices I ever made! :)
Â
In March, 2013, we sold our home in Washington and went on the road in our RV full time. What a blast! There is so much world out there to see!
After traveling around the West for a few years, we got rid of the motorhome and are now spending winters in deep-south Texas and summers in Washington State. Spring and fall finds us visiting whichever place strikes our fancy at the time!

Great poem! it does get one to thinking, I've often thought about things like this, (comes easy when you consider all the SF / Fantasy I've read). I can answer in all truthfulness, I really don't know if I want to change anything.

Wonderful, I know about the writing and erasing thing, I have done it myself on more than one occasion, but with me it's usually the spelling :)

i've read your writing but this may be the first I've commented on, only because i take a lot of time with writing (not because it's not worth commenting on, believe me). Aside from the simplicity & truth of what you say, you say it with ease, grace, and simplicity, something not easy to come by. I like your versification, and your directness gives real power to your feelings. And thanks for the reference to TheBigEasy too. Always nice to find another fine writer here. A very fine piece of feeling & thought.

It's so easy to sit here & reflect upon what you might have done, but if you hadn't done exactly what you did, you wouldn't be the person you are today, and maybe that's the point, some people don't like who they've become? But we have the ability to change and make things different today & in the future... Going back & doing things over wouldn't really change anything because you couldn't take your collective knowledge with you... you'd make the same choices over again. and end up right where you are today, reflecting... excellent thought provoking poem...

Mistakes? Oh yeah. Bad choices? Too many. Loss? Sadly, yes. Changes? Yes indeed!! Regrets? Nope.
Charberry
Regrets? Yes, I have many. It isn't that I was making so many bad choices, but maybe most were good at the time. It was not being able to see the consequences at the time. You know, hind sight? Nothing we can do about those. Excellent writing.

Fine image and written observation regarding the limited abilities of a human to control fate. My current regret is not finding an egret closeup to photograph.
