Description

Nothing says "summer" to me like a beautiful dahlia in full bloom. Our snow has melted now, except for the places where it was shoveled and plowed and piled up on the side of the road. Those dingy mountains of ice and sand are everywhere, slow to melt. There are a few places where there's still snow on the ground ... places that don't get any sun at this time of year ... but they're few and far between. This week we're supposed to get rain and temperatures in the mid to upper 40s. Bring it on!! .......... Oh, by the way ... it's my two-year anniversary at Renderosity! Thank you all for your support, your help, and your friendship. It's been a great two years! I'm looking forward to many more. :)

Congratulations on two years. I was sure we were suppose to get rain and warmer temps, but here in Camas, WA, we're down below freezing again. Thanks for the warm up picture as I sit her with my hat and coat on and the heater running madly!

it's like a portrait, like the flower worked with you to get this shot; it's a beautiful angle and a very full shot. It's as if the flower were speaking to another flower when you shot it. And I like that the shot is bright but also reflective, it has the feeling of a peaceful moment...Very sensitive work, as always, and nice peaceful greens in the background.

Excellent portrayal of red in this macro of the lovely dahlia. Those dahlia pistils always look like they're about to open up and spit out something malevolent.
