Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

a modern day love poem, friend or lover, and true feelings about trying to get our minds back after thinking of someone we'd like closer to us...and your Macbeth quote ("Out, damned spot") is perfect for your visual, an orb almost pestered by that big blue 'spot' (a lover? a person? our own nagging need for a person?) Losing one's mind in the thoughts of someone else: Another bard quote: "When to the sessions of sweet silent thought/I summon up remembrance of things past..." Sweet & frustrated remembrance. Your art & words work perfectly for your thought. You have a real way with the short concise line; very nice work, Marilyn...

I have some of those "bitter sweet rememberances" too. And when I have them so many emotions flood through me, even being angry at this person for making me feel the way I do. But I can also smile at the happier memories because for a time, they did bring love and laughter in to my life. Well written Marliyn, you do have a way with words and bringing your emotions to the surface where we can all share in your feelings!
