Thanks to Biffowitz for his observation on The Break. Perhaps I am shy behind the virtual camera and need to get closer to the subject – not to close. Thanks all for your comments and advice.
Research! Research at least for me is almost always necessary to learn how to help transform what I am thinking into something that can communicate to others. Posing = Line of Action. First credited to some cartoonist at Disney I understand. I learned to appreciate just how good the Team AS (Aeory Soul) poses are after learning a bit about the very important concept called Line of Action. I have used a few of their poses as starting points or inspiration for what I wanted to accomplish and learn more about what makes good poses and communicates with the viewer.
I have found some wonderful modeling tutorials over at Geekplay that I have been going over. They have a wide range of tutorials if you have never seen their site.
