Description

The Hartsop Valley - Cumbria After driving down the steep descent of the Kirkstone Pass one arrives in the beautiful Hartsop valley.One of the features is the small lake of Brothers Water.The lake is under half a mile long and a quarter of a mile and used to be called Broad Water but in the 19th century two brothers drowned in the lake hence the new name.Brothers Water is often ignored by many visitors who prefer the larger and better lake of Ullswater but for those who take the time to discover this area they find a peace and tranquillity away from the crowds and are rewarded with beautiful walks and fascinating landscapes. Just left of centre below the mountains in the distance you can just see the lake where we started the walk. Eddie

This seems like an old masterish photo, its colors work that way with the composition. It also looks like you could have stepped back 50 or 350 years ago, it is that timeless.
