Hi y'all! Hope everyone had a great New Year's celebration and holidays and has their creative batteries all recharged up and ready to create awesome fractal art for '09.
I don't typically do "sequels" - or at least post them - but this variation on my Kon-Tiki fractstract I think is showable and the darn thing has been banging on the walls of its folder so much, I figured I'd let it out to make it stop - lol.
I like the different coloring of this one and also the taller composition. I also added some "islands" in the green oval to represent the Pacific islands Heyerdahl journeyed to. Actually, there WAS a Kon-Tiki II built and his grandson was going to try to duplicate the feat a couple of years ago, but I'm not sure it ever happened.
Anyhow, I've gone back and forth as to the sorta "squashed" compo/aspect ratio of this piece's predecessor. Sometimes I really like it, sometimes I'm not so sure. I reckon most times I do. As I just looked at them side by side, I think maybe the "raft" is more evident in the first one. Anyone want to weigh in on which is better or if they are both ok? Here's the original one: http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=1805309&member
Thanks for stopping by to check out my new "bass boat"! lol
c-ya!
Rick
