Description

I took this one on the way back from the Castle Inn a few nights back, a bridge further down the same stretch of motorway as my first 'Transit' shot from a good while back. Honestly I wanted to set up to take shots of star trails but realised that a bulb exposure wouldn't be feasible without the remote shutter release needed for the 40d (typical that they're not all interchangable!), so 30 secs was the max I could shoot, pretty much ruling out the shot I wanted to try. But anyway I kinda liked how this one turned out.... maybe the lights in the distance over the trees are the last bits of light from the day but more likely is they're from the local town of Banbury a few miles down the road. The motorway is the M40. Now I'm comfortable enough with light trails and long exposures I hope to get a bit more creative sometime soon with similar shots in St Andrews, I realise this one isn't anything spectacular, just another 'light trails on motorway shot', but practice makes perfect eh? ;) Adam

Looks like you got yourself some emergensy vehicle there mate, I did light trails years ago on rollfilm, only ever got red and white, and a smattering of orange from blinkers, I know what you are talking about there, I saw a review of the new Canon, and the battery packs don't even match up either,I hate it when they change things like that, but with hindsight, they are out to make money, what a better way than change something so you have to buy new...Ronnie stop rambling man LOL!

Looks totally fantastic to me, I haven't had a proper go at this light trail shots but I will have to go and experiment one night. I think Ronnie is right there, looks like Police or Ambulance with the blue lights ! I'd certainly be happy with this! Some of the other equipment you mention has gone right over my head lol.!
