Description

What walk on the beach would be complete without exploring the driftwood that washes up? This day was particularly rich because of those storms. There were treasures every step of the way. I found a huge, tangled chunk of Madrone** and it stopped me in my tracks. The colors were so rich and deep, I walked around it, taking shots from every angle. This is one of my favorites. **Madrone

I could make something nice of of that piece of wood, the colour is so rich and warm, it would look nice just polished up, or should I say nicer because it is already nice. Great find and an excellent capture Marylin, I know beachcombing is not allowed up in Tara's neck of the wood, whats the rules in your area regarding driftwood?? Superb work. Bravo!!!!!

Beautiful wood! I like what you've done with this, although I think I like the more subdued colors of the first version I saw even better. No matter ... it's a gorgeous shot!

Stellar colors, lighting and textures in this portrait, Marilyn. Could have swore that was a roast done rare when I first saw it.

If you were a wood worker, you could have taken this home, worked on it a bit and had a nice addition to your furnishings. Very good pic! Bill

sumptuous, and your head-on capture plunges us right into the drama of it, and It's luscious. It has the look of raw meat, or cured pork (I'm vegetarian, so you did good to get me salivating at that!) and most of all, of flame. It's a dynamic capture, and I like that you were unapologetic in capturing it "in our face," so to speak, plunging us right in & giving us the dark side (to the left) as well as the complex upper part. Wonderful, rich capture. Man, you and those beaches really make music together: This is taking me on trips! (And Tara mentioned another madrone...I'll have to go looking through your gallery, I'd love to see more!)
