Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

...just like a football splitting the goal posts on a field goal attempt. Stellar POV, DOF, perspective, and reddish ambiance in this shot, with plenty of cattle dumps to go around. Watch thy step!

amazing how colors change everything! Here, instead of curling up under those blue-grays (so melancholy and abandoned), suddenly there's an amber glow. You caught the feeling well. (It's almost 'peach' rather than amber, actually...) And the life under the rafters shows that life goes on even when the owners & large animals are gone. I could look at wood like this for hours, because of the many musics of its various states of life & decay. Your shots remind us that when nature takes over, these structures still fit right-in, because, unlike some human-made materials, wood never clashes with the land: It's always comfortable sitting there, just quietly chatting with the grasses & dirt & manures...Another rich shot in this wonderful series. (Glad you caught all these for us!)
