Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

All what you do is not "Helpless", to just be there and listen is much more sweetie, this is well written!

In "showing your work" we see that "the trying" is very much, a part of the equation In the same vein, trying-"not trying" substitutes directly NOW factoring down we find that the trying-"not trying" brings positive conclusions with no remainders. (I want to thank my Algebra Teacher for that) She always said I would use it one day???

Well chosen words. A close friend was just moved to a hospice house...know how you feel...but he has yet another friend closer than a brother. He'll be just fine. Bill

For myself, empathy always out-weighs sympathy as one can never know just how another's pain is being felt. Very well done poem and imagery.

Beautifully written - touches a cord at a deep level.

a beautiful evocation of being someplace you can't 'not' be, even though it has real pain in it...you express yourself so well in short phrases & short poetic breaths. Maybe it's just what you feel: short packed sighs...very touching, and I truly wish you well, Marilyn. So do your other commenters, I see. And a really good image too: A heart partially dissolved but still passionately glowing. I hope for its returned wholeness in time...

If you are there to listen then you are not being helpless....compassion helps a lot!
