Description

I've had my tongue in my cheek so much lately about my fancy lighting studio, I think I should tell you the truth again about what I'm really doing! My "State-of-the-Art Backlighting Studio" is my living room window. It cost me nothing ... I open the drapes, and there's the light. :) My "Low Light Studio" is a piece of black fabric on my ironing board, with a desk lamp off to the side and the camera on a tripod, using the timer. That's it. That's all the fancy equipment I'm using for these light shots. Oh ... see the dark outside edge on the fan? That's because one day I picked up the fan, bumped my arm on something, and dropped the fan in my Scotch! .......... Full view zoom, please! The detail is lost in the smaller image.

Ohhhh great shot! I've one of those fans and I love how it does emit the sandalwood scent in warm weather. But does yours fill the air with the scent of scotch now??? : )

This is beautiful, and I always see full-view because art sites always show images at reduced resolution (I know it saves bandwidth, but it's a bit frustrating for artists...) This has the warmth & intimacy of a precious heirloom; and the 'Scotch" coloring only adds to that warmth. (It gives a nice irregular pattern to it, too. I'd say it was a beautiful surprise from the whiskey-gods...) You have such a way with single objects, you make portraits out of a fan! It's beautiful. And your background is a perfect harmonious brown. (You sure you're not related to Rembrandt? Did he have a distant relative called "tara"?)

What a wonderful shot, and I just love your state of the art lighting, A friend of mine that is an Artist that does Oil Paintings told me that it does not matter what you use just as long as you get the affect that your after. I just love this type of capture.
