Description

I started out looking at photos I'd taken of pots at the nursery, trying to find something that appealed to me in an abstract composition way. I found one I liked, and used it as inspiration for the division of the canvas. Of course the more I worked the more they looked like pots, since that's what I was thinking about, so I just gave up and let this look like whatever it wanted to look like. Created in ArtRage.

Good idea, because it ended up with a simple and very beautiful painting. My son just brought me a HUGE canvas 4,86 feet X 3,24 feet for me to paint him a painting. :-/ What a challenge !!!

(what you do with Artrage!) Agree with the comments, esp. Tim (november22) and Helle...You obviously have walked with the eloquence of sheer edges...the pot intensifies beautifully towards the edge, your shading is sensuous & plush; and the blues outside it thicken & saturate in beautiful layered swaths. (I die over stuff like that! your space is alive!) Your colors are also beautiful, the violet being such a fine contrast. This is lovely. I think Matisse just woke up, along with maybe Gaugin and a little Georgia O'Keeffe. (This has her boldness & passion.) I love this. I hope you post more paintings.
