Description

My first commissioned work. Well, kind of. I was asked to design an invite for a neighbor friend who was turning 100 years old on November 27th. In the US, turning 100 years old means that on The Today Show, Willard Scott reads a list of people who turn 100+ that day, along with a picture they sent explaining the reason for their long life. The show's sponsor is Smuckers. On The Today Show, their photo is placed on the back of a jar of Smucker's jelly jar when they are mentioned during the broadcast. We decided to try it with my neighbor, so we send in her photo. The response was that there are so many Centenarians these days that only a hand full of people would be named in the show. Mostly, these days it was for people who were 140 or some odd number. You see the cover of the card sent out as an invitation. I'm not going to post the whole card. I was given a free hand as to how I wanted to make the invite. The only thing was it had to include Smuckers somehow. So I tried to make the receiver think it was an advertisement for Smuckers. When the card was opened, you would find the back of the jar and a photo of Mrs. Marie Baskfield, along with the stated reason for her longevity. The card was a hit. Now I designed this card last year before November 27th. I just never got around to posting the image here. My reason for posting this now is that Mrs. Baskfield passed away. I loved her dearly. This image is my way of paying tribute to her. Most of what you see was made in Bryce and Wings 3D. The Plate and spoon came from ShareCG.com. Textures were created with the aid of PS2. Thanks for looking.

Very well done, although the bread lets it down a little!

Photostar thank you. BTW. The bread was the hardest thing to model. I couldn't get the texture down. I tried everything. So if anyone can tell me how to do it better, I'd love to know. After all I my have to do it again some day.
