Description

Santana is a city located in the northern part of the Madeira Islands, Portugal. Santana is famous for its traditional homes with bungalow rooftops that are made out of straw that extend down to the ground making it like a triangular house. It is mainly a rural house and farmers lived in these homes in the older times. These houses have a beautiful white wall with red doors and windows and blue edges. Most of these houses are a tourist attraction. The straw roofs are renovated every four to five years.
