Description

I rode my bike out to this spot yesterday---it's where the Van Duzen and Eel Rivers converge. The Eel then continues for several more miles before emptying into the ocean. The river in the foreground is the Van Duzen. I've spent many, many hours on both of these rivers and I never get tired of seeing what they have to offer.

now here you have real photographic divisions: The foreground is all light with speckles of waves; the mid ground is that beautiful island, like a barge made of earth (and I like that you left the stuff in the middle in silhouette, it allows us to feel its mystery). And then the background: first the silvery river, then of course the majestic green-blue hills, and then the sky...a beautiful landscape. (The "scape" of "landscape" originally meant 'ship': A landscape is almost like a long ship sailing on the horizon...) A definite fav—what photography is and can do: a beautiful capture of the layers of land & sky...How do you get anything done with all this around you? I'd never go to work or talk to a soul! (And btw, this is a must-see full view! Beautiful...)

anahata.c puts it most eloquently, and I have to agree with every word he says, and with Tara as well the tiny flock of birds adds to the overall image. Superb work. Bravo!!!!!
