Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Great shots, excellent collage! If you'll ever go by the Lake Huron, you'll find many and various models of broken trunks...

Wonder how it got there..............

A different face depending on the viewing angle. Suppose you would almost have to hire out a crane, flat-bed truck and drivers then to get it to your place. Some day, Mother Nature will reclaim it back into the sea. But, in the meantime, I'm sure many are enjoying the sculpture just where it is.

A kind of strange and of curiousity that i like. Good idea for the photo.

These driftwood pieces are amazing. It's kind of like the Elivis face on Mars. You wonder if nature put it there, or if someone decided to shape it. Cool captures.

Good looking collage. To get one of those things home, you'd need a pickup with a power lift of some sort on the back. Bill

Wonderful!!

I have brought home the biggest boulders and the most massive wood. My family hates to travel with me - in fact, they insist we take my little Ford Escort now because there is no way I can put those 500 pound rocks or 8 foot long narly logs home in it. :-) Great shots.

It's a dead tree but still has much life. Excellent collage

An amazing find. Perhaps your son could strap it to his snowboard and drag it to your garden. And the bottom shot on the right does look like a bedraggled tortoise emerging from the depths.

The shot on the left is definately a Skeksis, from the movie "The Dark Crystal" Great find, and well taken photos! : )

Very impressive hunk of wood, Marilyn! Maybe you should wire it for light where it sits...and get a REALLY long extension cord.... :) It would be a great addition to any garden!

Wonderful shots! What a gorgeous piece of wood, beautiful from all angles!

holy cow: That's the whole thing? You mean that huge thing is the same driftwood as the one we saw yesterday? Amazing! Your top right capture makes it look like a Sphinx; and the lower right—if that's the same piece—is like a big chunk of maple cured bacon! The colors are exquisite. (You posted driftwood a few shots ago, with those beautiful colors: Do they all have those undersides?) I say, take it home! Put it in your living room! It may have things to tell you...that's one wise piece o' wood! (Are these protected? I mean could you actually take it home if you wanted? Of course you might need the National Guard to carry it...but it looks like something the Federal Gvnmt would protect...) A wonderful montage & thanks for showing us so many sides. I never knew it could be so complex! Love it...
