Hi, My name is Bill and I am updating my homepage to reflect a wonderful event in my life...marriage, September 18, 2010, to my best friend Tara...known to many of you as auntietk here on Renderosity.
We "met" shortly after I joined Renderosity in August 2008. We share a love for photography and indeed all types of art.
We live north of Seattle and enjoy getting to share photographic excursions and information with other Renderositians ( is "Renderositians" even a word? ). LOL
As for me, it seems like I've been taking pictures all my life but I didn't get serious enough to purchase my first Digital Single Lens Reflex (DSLR) camera until May 2008. In May 2009 I upgraded from an Olympus E-510 to an Olympus E-30 with a wide variety of lenses.
My subject areas of interest include absolutely everything but with a frequent return to airplanes, cars, tanks, etc., ...or as Tara says, machines that make lots of noise;-)
If you are curious, I am pictured above in a Grumman Corsair on a taxiway of the Kansas City Downtown Airport. I used to fly and train others to fly airplanes. That will explain my frequent forays into the world of aviation. Last but by no means least, thanks to Pannyhb for introducing me to Renderosity. The moment I saw it I was hooked.
Fine print: Yes, the photo above is a photo manipulation:-)

Stunningly good!!!! Clever man!

Very well done, Bill! The pilot seems to be looking right at the other plane!

beautiful capture and plane.I was out taking jet pics the other day

Hooooah! Great job there Mr Bill. You done yoself proud with this one. I will point out, however, that it could have been improved 100 percent if the F-15 was replaced by a Navy Aircraft. I shall send you one on the email thing so you can replace a flat gray airplane with a vibrant real one in another render. To CavalierLady, had this been a movie you would have seen that pilot shaking his head, thinking, they just let anybody in this airfield. Jeeze. Cheers and a good weekend back to ya

I think you did a great job for a first crack of the whip Bill, my first goes weren't half this good.

What fantastic work! Classic and modern together! I use to love watching BAA BAA Black Sheep! Love it! Ray

I love these old marvels from WW2. A friend of my Dad's flew a Spitfire in the Battle of Britain...

Super work! The Corsair is such a classic, and I can't find any clue that you changed the sky. The contrast with the F-15 is interesting.

Very nice image Bill!! :)

You did a nice job of combining those photos! I like that shot of the corsair, and I wouldn't have guessed the editing-job if you hadn't pointed it out. Once I looked, I can find some artifacts along the boundary of where they meet, but it's pretty hard to spot unless you know what to look for. I guess my only suggestion would be to build a catalog of sky shots with different types of horizons so that if you want to merge them, you already have one with a tree-line, or city-scape, ocean-view, etc. It's a nice touch have a classic war-bird in the same view with the modern.

Very clever work Bill, the corsair is a wonderful plane, love the pilot just chilling waiting for takeoff

Wow, great shotof the corsair! i think you did a great job on the sky replacement. the low clouds that look like fog burning off work great with the lighting in the foreground which is flattering light for the corsair. nice job!

I love the picture of the Corsair Bill, one of my all time favorite WWII aircraft. The F-15 take off looks good, but the first thing that comes to mind is 'what runway is he taking off from?' Its possible that there is a runway, but mature trees that close to the end of the runway, what about over-run? Anyway, thats my input, again the Corsair is fantastic, Sig..

That the Corsair's pilot had his head turned completes the illusion. Good work.

Super shot of this Corsair. Love what you did with replacing the sky.

You did a successful manipulation with this sky (just maybe the clouds on the left and right which look too big at this lower view and altitude). I like the idea for that. Nice work.
decie
you should never have said I would never have spotted it :) and the plane is so cool. That is one super photo.

Wow! Bill, not only is it a great close shot of the Corsair but I would never have guessed about the sky, fabulous inclusion of the F-15. (I had to keep scrolling back up the page to get the ID of the aircraft lol) and RE:- your comment on my pic, Yes if I recall it was a "Duck"
Fred255
Excellent! It worked very well! In fact I would not have known.
goodoleboy
Blimey, shades of Baa Baa Blacksheep! Is that Marine Corps Major Greg 'Pappy' Boyington, time warped out of WWII, at the controls? Excellent composition in this rendition, Bill!
Kaartijer
Excellent shot and postwork! You know, I should take some shots of these planes that are flying over here... I'm pretty close to the Hobby Airport...

Bill this is great.Looks like you've learned a bit from Skipper, he may have put himself out of a job :) Almost seamless replacement, and with the pilot appearing to follow the fly past this is awsome. All thats needed is the lady in the 'Green dress' and the illusion is complete. Thanks for another special image.

Wow I love this! That guy in the Corsair better get a move on if he's going to catch that jet!
mermaid
wow, Bill, if you hadn't told a thing I wouldn't have noticed you changed the sky, so stellar work in that...smile... this corsair really looks neat, although flying in the rain must be a challenge, isn't it?
