Hi, I'm Marilyn. Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Interesting capture. You could have told us this was taken on a flight over the Grand Canyon...some of us would have believed you :) I know what you mean about the beach. I'm the same way. So, what am I doing living in Kansas? It gives me something to look forward to when I hit the road. Bill

Stellar array of multi colored and textured effects in this one, M. I like the stratified rock at the lower left.

this one is drenched in melancholy blues, whereas the last had mysterious whites. You really caught the textures too...some of these blue 'terraces' seem to be cracking, like ice floes. The amber earth is a strong contrast to the blues, and you give the sense that these terraced forms could go on forever...I assume the more you capture these beaches, the more infinite they become to you. I've seen a number of these shots now, yet I feel like I've only begun. Wonderful capture, Marilyn; you're bringing nature to us in high gear.
