Description

Right about the time it started to snow, I received a lovely bouquet of flowers. Of course I had to shoot them in my now-famous backlighting studio. The background is 100% what was there outside the window ... snow, snow, and more snow! The little bits of green you see are rhododendron leaves poking through. I can't let flowers pass through my house without taking pictures of them! Thankfully, all the snow is gone. The rivers have crested and are on their way back down, and now we're supposed to have a full week of dry weather in the high 40s. Yay! :) I'm trying to keep this all in perspective. In six weeks, it will be the end of February, and the worst will be behind us. I hope.

Stellar macro of the lovely bloom. It was sunny and 82 fahrenheit degrees down here in the Los Angeles basin today. In fact the weather person projects warm sunny days for the foreseeable future. Boring, all this sunshine, and we are in dire need of rain.

A beautiful yellow...almost buttery in texture and color. Six weeks doesn't sound too bad...roll on calendar. It is funny...I used to walk by the flower stand in the grocery store and pay scant attention. Now, I walk by wondering what might make a good photograph. Bill
