I have seen the Martian war tripods portrayed in many different ways. From crude to sophisticated and I can say that I like your design. Great bit of modeling and rendering, Iain.

Ah, someone else who realizes the novel actually takes place sometime during the first couple of years of the 20the Century. I lot of people want to place it during 1897 or '98 at the time of the story's serialization in Pierson's magazine. Anyway, I love seeing different interpretations of the infamous tripods, so I'm automatically drawn to this work. I love the "dusky" sky in this scene. It makes the tripods all the more foreboding. Sincerely, Bill

Great modelling and the sky gives it extra drama! There seems to be an odd cubic shape in the foreground that looks out of place but this does not detract from an excellent image!
