Hi, I'm Marilyn. Ă‚Â I've been posting here on RR for a few years now and thought it was time to update my profile. Ă‚Â It's been wonderful learning so much from the amazingly talented people here. Ă‚Â I've had the chance to meet many in person and some have become great and good friends. Ă‚Â Starting with a Kodak Brownie camera when I was about 7 or 8, moving up to Instamatics, Polaroids, then the Pentax K1000 that really got me on the way, I've been looking at the world thru a lens for a long time. Ă‚Â Got the bug honestly; my dad was a photographer and gave me the gene!! Ă‚Â Digital changed the world and I jumped in with both feet. Ă‚Â You would've gone thru 100's of rolls of film in one day the way we can shoot and delete all day long. Ă‚Â Progess...it can be awesome sometimes.
At any rate, RR rocks, the talent is over the top and I'm just gonna keep on shooting!!
Thanks for looking and keep those cameras rollin'!!
peace.....marilyn

Like it. Look at that old weather beaten wood and rusty old barbed wire. Could have been there many years or maybe less...salt air sure plays havoc on everything. I can picture you sort of tottering back and forth on that stump :) Bill

I like it Marilyn, especially the texture in the wood. Don't go overboard in climbing posts to get pictures, you may get hurt. I am learning a lot about your area! keep them coming! Sig...

Stellar clarity, color effects, lighting and textures, M! Things don't get much more rustic than this.

oh, full-resolution this really has beautiful detail! I hope we don't read that you "disappeared one day" climbing a tree to get a shot of dragonfly (you're really going out on a limb these days!) This feels like a natural formation, like a cliff made of old wood; and your pov allows it to dangle there, across that vast background. Dramatic view. And really nice detail on the wood. God, this is a fav—I can't take my eyes off it. The big muddy yellow sky is perfect too. (Is that really the right-hand corner? I just looked, and one would never know this came from that corner: It seems so high and dramatic. See what photography can do? A teacher used to say, "a good photographer can find the Grand Canyon in their backyard...") (Is that the Colorado River I see down there...) Wonderful.
