Description

this is a very old board game, invented by a german over 100 years ago. it is called 'mensch aergere dich nicht' (do not get angry, buddy) - it is known in holland as 'mens erger je niet' (same translation :-) and we played it a lot before the computer age - in america it is called 'parcheesi' and in england 'ludo' i found an old and somewhat bent one when moving house and it inspired this image. the 'fun' of the game is that very often, when you think you are safe something goes wrong and you have to start all over again. IMPORTANT! if all this sounds familiar, don't get me wrong and keep in mind that this is a work of fiction, it is all the product of my imagination and any resemblance to actual or future events, companies or persons, living or dead, is coincidental.

Fantastic image. I love that the pawns are really pawns, but now they are people too after following your pawn people art. Now I want to play. I love the game of Parcheesi, and have played it for years. Great fun, and great disappointment sometimes. ;)

OGHHH Yes, LUDO it is. :)) I have played it alots of times as child and later too with children. What a gorgeous ludo game you have created and really worth waiting for. And you thought right. I love it. But I can never look at the little pawns without thinking of you and without seeing them as people. I so agree with Suzanne.

well I can honestly say I don't know a thing about board games so your deft text did it's trick! I love the visual, the curve of the board, and the wonderful pawns (which have a personality of their own). And your shadows are just right too. Kind of a universal board game, and I love the thin necks on the pawns. (Hope they don't get upset, they could lose their heads.) More deft work from you Koosie. A gentle delight.

Outstanding interpretation of the game "Mensch aergere dich nicht". Beautiful colors and fantastic play of light and shadows. Very creative work!
