Description

I took one of my favorite lily photographs and used it as a reference for this painting. (You can see the photograph here if you're interested.) Since I'm not very good at drawing, I traced the outline of the shapes. Other than that, this is a straight digital painting, no tricks. Well ... except for the fact that I realized I'd used the same shades of pink and rose on this lily as I did on the last flower painting I posted, so I changed the color of the flower in Photoshop once the painting was done. :) Gotta love the options that are available with digital art! .......... Created in ArtRage and Photoshop.

Very nicely done. Like the highlights and shadows. This for sure isn't something I've tried yet. Of course if I tried this technique, I'd probably have to take a photo of a tank and paint it with a new camo paint job or something similar :) Bill

Marvellous! I love this, Tara: Just imagine how tedious it would be to repaint and actual canvas. It is beautiful!!! I haven't even made a start on Corelpainter yet, but I will! Just so much going on with the house, and I need to get my physical fitness back after the winter too.

the photograph is beautiful, tara, but the painting is even moreso. A flower transformed into a vision! I loved the last painting, and love this. I simply can't get these feelings in software, but you painted a long time and it must rush through your blood. The rushes of white and the beautiful dark violets (some in lines, like energy) are gorgeous. And you've highlighted the stamens like bursts, and your green background is lush and peaceful at the same time. (it's to die for.) You could paint here forever & I wouldn't tire of it...a beautiful piece. (And for whatever it's worth, I never care if a painting has similar colors to another: They're still separate visions, and this one is just beautiful!)
